If you enjoy my style of painting and would like to commission you're very own piece of unique art but not sure where to begin, have a read below. Many people might find the thought of commissioning a piece of art for their home quite overwhelming - where do you begin, right?! I've had people say they don't know what to ask for, or they don't know if they can afford a piece. Below is a summary of the full process, to help make things clearer.
*
Whether as a gift to yourself or a unique creation for a loved one, a piece of original artwork is timeless and adds a uniqueness to your home. Do you have a place which evokes a special memory or a feeling within? A landscape or coastline? Would a fresh, abstract interpretation based on a beautiful photo give you or a loved one joy for years to come? These are some of the reasons people commission original peices of art.

01. PRICING
I'll send my price list over as part of the initial enquiry. These are based on standard sizes to give you an idea and are easily tailored to a size which suits the space you have in mind. We can also discuss framing from the outset as part of the process so that it’s ready to hang.
02. INITIAL CHAT
This is completely free. Every piece and every person is different. I've had clients who have a very clear idea of what they want, and others who need more of a design lead from me as to what will look good in their chosen room. I can provide ideas, colours and styles with suggestions on sizing if you aren't sure what will work. I can also view the space beforehand and give my initial thoughts if desired, in that case I can pop over or send me a video/images.
03. OVERALL LOOK & FEEL
Simply send across some images of your ideas, we can discuss colour palettes and the room it will rest in (Pinterest is great to find inspiration too). Or if you aren’t’ completely sure, I can work up a look and feel board to agree on first. I will also do a pencil sketch/digital mock up to give you an idea of the composition so that you feel completely comfortable. This process makes an artwork really personal and meaningful.
04. PAYMENT
After we have agreed on a size, price and design for the piece plus postage costs I ask for 50% deposit upon initial commission, and 50% upon completion of the painting.
05. PAINTING PROCESS
I’ll let you know when I am about to begin your piece. I will send over a progress shot around 70-80%. Here any tweaks can be made if necessary to ensure you have something you really love. The whole process normally takes 2-6 weeks.
06. POSTAGE
When the painting has been finalized I will send through a final picture. I'll then ask for final payment and dispatch to you as soon as possible. The postage I use is tracked and insured to make sure your piece gets to you safely. You will get updates of the items arrival and the delivery driver will have your details if there are any problems.
Postage within the UK is included in the final price. Postage outside the UK will be an additional charge. If you are local we can organize a time to collect or drop off.
I love to see the artwork we have created together within your space so please send me a picture!

"I have been admiring my painting for a week now – each time I look at it, it never fails to add a smile to my face and warmth in myheart. This painting was a gift to myself, and it really is the gift that keeps giving.
I had seen Miranda’s beautiful paintings, and was thrilled when she agreed to take on this commission for me. We talked over my vision and the reason for this particular scene. I provided some photos and we talked about the colours that I would like to be included, along with the colour palette of the room. In addition to the picture painting, I also had some existing frames and asked if Miranda could paints some abstract pieces using the same colours to compliment the feature paintings and bring the artwork in the room together.
Miranda shared some peeks of the painting as a piece in progress, and even then I already loved it, but now to have the finished framed painting on my wall to appreciate everyday is a total joy.
Miranda’s recommendation on the colour for the mounting board is absolutely spot on, and it completes this beautiful painting.
I’m so pleased that I found the perfect person to paint this for me. Such an enjoyable experience and a painting to treasure."
