QUALITY + CARE

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A FINE ART GICLEE PRINT AND A POSTER ART PRINT?

All prints in my shop are fine art Giclee style printing which
create the highest quality. Originating from the French term, “la giclée,” it means, ‘that which is sprayed or squirted’ meaning there is no pixelation. A
giclee print is a combination of high resolution artwork, premium paper choice,
pigment-based inks and quality inkjet printers.

I use the highest standard of papers such as Hahnemuhle
which is 100% cotton rag, sustainably sourced and acid free meaning it will never yellow. This is a lovely thicker weight paper with a beautiful texture.
The biggest difference between a standard inkjet print which produces a poster art print and a fine art print is that giclee’s are printed using pigment-based
inks rather than dye-based inks that are found in lower-cost inkjets. Pigment-based inks are archival meaning they have a longer lifespan: lasting
anywhere from 100 - 200 years without significant fading so it will look beautiful on your walls for years to come. They can capture a vast amount more
colours and subtleties than a standard print and look like the originals!

Poster art will use a lighter weight paper which can ripple
in a frame and cheaper inks which have less depth and fade over time.

Read more about the intricate process of creating original
art into high quality giclee prints on my BLOG.

HOW CAN I CHECK THE COLOURS ON MY SCREEN ?

Please note I spend a great deal of time calibrating the colours and investing in print testing so
that they appear as close as possible to the original and my intention for the piece. I use a curated colour palette and am passionate about how colour can affect a space and ourselves. Colours however will vary from screen to screen,
I suggest looking at the artwork on a few different screens to ensure you are happy. Any issues with your purchase please get in touch.

WHO ACTUALLY OWNS THE PAINTING?

I retain all rights to all artwork I create. This includes the rights to the image of sold & commissioned original paintings. When you purchase an original painting you, the collector, have the right to display the artwork in your home or business  but the artwork may not be resold or reproduced without my written permission. Please do not reproduce my artwork without consent, I am very happy to be referenced and given credit to
in any publications!

Please let me know if you are interested in purchasing full or partial rights to your painting.  Some collectors choose to purchase my right to reproduce the artwork to ensure it will never become a print, I’d love to discuss this with you.
